Curriculum
Purchasing an EyasSAT is not just about buying a piece of hardware—it is about buying into a user community dedicated to hands-on learning whether it be for working engineers looking to augment their skill base, or students from high school through graduate school wanting to learn about the principles of aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, and software engineering. The basic EyasSAT comes with a full set of instructional material developed over a period of 5 years at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs in partnership with the EyasSAT company. This course material provides a basis for the instructor to tailor to their own curriculum and has been extensively tested and proven in the “real world” classroom.
The EyasSAT course material focuses on 6 basic units with enough course material for at least one semester of hands on study:
- Structural design
- Electrical Power subsystem
- Attitude Determination and Control
- Command and Data Handling
- Thermal Control
- Communications
We will be adding auxiliary course material on an on-going basis to this core material. Buying an EyasSAT gives you access to our blog site where you and other instructors exchange ideas, experiments and discoveries. EyasSAT is not just a satellite, it is your gateway to a world of discovery and hands-on learning for the current AND the next generation of engineers and scientists.
